Regarding the Audio Delay Issue
If your Headphone does not support aptX Low Latency or FastStream, you'll experience slight audio delay. If it really bothers you, the easiest solution is simply to go with a pair Bluetooth gaming headset that supports aptX Low Latency or FastStream.
You may also consider a pre-paired Headphone + Adapter set; these sets or "combos" come with built-in low latency technology and gives you much better Audio Quality when you'd like to do in-game voice chats. What's more, these sets usually still allow you to use the adapter and/or the headphone independently if you want... quite convenient.

FAQs
Can I connect Bluetooth headphones like AirPods or Bose QC35 to a PS4?
Yes, you can connect Bluetooth headphones to a PS4 using a USB Bluetooth adapter. Plug the adapter into the PS4’s USB port, put both the adapter and headphones into pairing mode, and they will connect, allowing you to use your wireless headphones with the console.
How do I connect Bluetooth headphones to PS4 using a USB adapter?
Plug the USB Bluetooth adapter into the PS4’s USB port. Put your Bluetooth headphones into pairing mode, then also put the adapter into pairing mode. Keep them close until they connect. Once paired, audio will stream wirelessly to your headphones.
What causes audio delay when using Bluetooth headphones on PS4?
Audio delay happens if your headphones don’t support low-latency codecs like aptX Low Latency or FastStream. This causes sound to lag behind the video. To fix this, use headphones or headphone + adapter combos that support these low-latency technologies for synchronized audio.
Are there headphone + adapter combos for PS4 to reduce audio lag?
Yes, some sets come pre-paired with built-in low latency technology, offering better audio quality and minimal delay. These combos, like Avantree DG59M, also support in-game voice chat and can be used independently, providing convenience and improved gaming audio experience.
Can I use my existing Bluetooth headphones with PS4 without a USB adapter?
Most Bluetooth headphones cannot connect directly to PS4 due to compatibility restrictions. Using a USB Bluetooth adapter is usually necessary. If your headphones support aptX Low Latency or FastStream, pairing them with a compatible adapter will reduce audio lag and improve sound quality.
