Every time we purchase a product from Avantree we were very satisfied. The customer service is always available and help us to solve any problem
I have several sets of over the counter hearing amplifiers / Bluetooth headphones and even though I don't really have a hearing issue I always keep a pair in my pocket. Most other types I've tried have an issue where you have to get a snug fit in the ear to get rid of the squealing feedback sounds and they usually have an annoying problem where the sound of your own voice is loud and annoying when in hearing aid mode. This Avantree unit is different and I can definitely see where they've tried to design it to improve on the faults of other brands. Form factor: These are not earbuds that you have to deal with getting a snug fit and making sure your ears are clean. These hang on the outside of your ear and have their speakers floating over your ear canal. Even though they are not in the ear the sound quality is pretty great. I don't love how my glasses ride on top of them and that they are more difficult to get on your ear than an earbud but I can get used to it for the benefit of not having to stick something in my ear. Squealing: There is none! The reason is that instead of amplifying sound via a microphone on the earpiece these use a microphone in the charging case. So if you're in a conference room or living room or restaurant you just leave the charging case on the table and everyone's voice will come through from that central point. No squealing and no annoying sounds of your own voice. Yes you can also leave the charging case and leave the room and still listen in on the conversation like a spy. Size: Not small. Unlike the other earbud units I have that have small cases that fit in a pocket this charging case (thanks to the larger over the ear design) is bigger and would definitely create a bulge in a pocket. It's about the size of a half of a hard-side eyeglass case. Not a deal breaker - just a bit bigger than a regular earbud case. Operation: Works great every time with no fiddling around. Made in China but the voice telling you what's happening has no Asian accent like other units I have. There's a button inside the charging case that switches you from hearing aid to Bluetooth headphone. It works fine but on other units I have once you go from hearing aid to Bluetooth they connect seamlessly. This unit requires that you go to your device's Bluetooth settings and connect each time which is not optimal but not bad enough to remove a star from this review. Buttons: There is a multi function button on each ear that lets you change volume and pause/play and answer calls. The other button is on the charging case to switch modes from hearing aid to Bluetooth headphone. Operation is pretty simple. There are also LED lights that go from red to blue in different modes to tell you what's happening. The instruction manual is well written and easy to follow and the manufacturer includes a card with the name of a dedicated support person you can call if you have questions or need assistance which is a very nice touch. All in all this is a very well designed and high quality OTC hearing device. I'll be using this a lot.
Like not having to put something inside my ear. They have great sound. Love how they sound when using Bluetooth and talking on the phone or listening to music. Easy to setup and seem to be high quality materials. They also work well for sound amplification when needed.
These are different than most hearing aids or amplifiers because the microphone is in the case. You place the case open in a central location to pick up sound...whether that be in the middle of a table or close to the instructor/leader or a class or meeting. These would work to help you hear when in a sedentary position but not so much if you are out and about. The ear pieces with the speaker fit over not in your ears which would be good for someone with sensitive ears. These definitely have a niche use and may be good for a secondary pair of hearing assists but if you only get one pair these probably wouldn't be ideal since you always need the case open next to the sound you want to pick up for these yo benefit you.
On their own I thought they would work like hearing aids with adjustable volume for each ear. Not so. The remote hearing mic on the case is fantastic and works great As regular sound Coming from Bluetooth connectivity From my phone. Without the case There is no hearing aid.
The charging case’s built-in mic transmits audio loud & clear to your earphones.
In BT mode, play / pause, adjust the volume, skip / replay tracks, etc., with the built-in controls.
Use a single earphone independently of the other and set different volume levels for each.
• When the earphones are in Bluetooth mode, the hearing amplifier is nonoperational.
• You’ll need to switch between Bluetooth mode & hearing mode manually by pressing & holding the button on the table mic for 2 seconds.
