How to Connect Wireless Bluetooth Headphones to Blu-Ray Players?
Want to use your Bluetooth wireless headphones with your Blu-ray DVD player to hear the audio better? No problem! There are actually a few different ways to do it and they’re all easy & straightforward. In this article, we’ll walk you through each method and you can pick the one that suits you the best.
Method 1: Connect the Headphones to your TV.
This is believe it or not, the most common way to do it.
If you're using headphones for your DVD player, chances are you're probably using it for other TV related stuff as well... Connecting the headphones to your TV allows you to switch between audio sources without losing the audio in your headphones.
This method is best suited for people who has multiple input sources into the TV and would like to use the headphones for everything.
If your TV has built-in Bluetooth: Easy, just pair your headphones directly to the TV.
If your TV does NOT have built-in Bluetooth: No worries, it's still doable; you'll need a Bluetooth Transmitter Adapter that essentially "Bluetooth-enables" your TV.
These "Adapters" look something like this...
Method 2: Connect a Bluetooth Adapter to the Blu-Ray Player itself.
Yup, usually there's an audio output port where you can plug the Bluetooth adapter into and transmit audio wirelessly to your Headphones.
Bluetooth adapters nowadays usually support Digital Optical (SPDIF/TOSLINK,) 3.5mm AUX, and Red/White RCA audio outputs... so there's no need to worry about compatibility as long as you can find a audio output port on the DVD player.
This particular method is more likely to give you simultaneous audio through the Headphones AND the TV Speakers... but please beware, it's only "more likely" not "definitely." This feature still depends heavily on the TV itself.
The down side about this method is obviously that you won't be able to hear through the headphones anymore if you switch to another audio source on your TV...
Anything labeled "audio out" will work!
Method 3: Directly Pair with your Blu-Ray Player.
Last but not least... though quite rare, some newer Blu-Ray player models do come with built-in Bluetooth capabilities... if this is the case, you may connect your Bluetooth headphones directly to the DVD player and save a lot of trouble.
Again, the down side of this method is the same with Method 2: you'll only be able to use the headphones when you're watching something using the DVD player...
And that's about it!
Oh! Forgot to mention! Tthese methods can apply to Gaming Consoles as well! PlayStation 4, Xbox One... etc., as long as they have an audio output port.
But please note that this is only for audio output. If you'd like to use in-game voice chats with your Gaming Consoles, you'll want to use a USB Bluetooth audio adapter instead.
