How to Connect Wireless Headphones to VIZIO TV?

If you can't hear your TV well and you don't want to blast the volume, connecting wireless headphones to your TV is a good & easy way to let you hear it better.

This can be done on pretty much every VIZIO TV, whether it's a Smart TV or not. Some TVs come with built-in Bluetooth capabilities, some don't... either way, we'll help you get it done.

Please check your VIZIO user manual to see whether your TV has Bluetooth built-in or not.

If your TV DOES have built-in Bluetooth

1. Get your Bluetooth Headphones into Bluetooth Pairing Mode. The process is slightly different for every headphone model; please refer to its USER MANUAL for more details.

2. Take your VIZIO Remote, go into your TV's SETTINGS menu.

3. Find SOUND OUTPUT, go into SPEAKER LIST, SEARCH & SELECT your Headphone to PAIR & CONNECT.

4. Please note that the settings menu may look different in different TV models. Check your VIZIO user manual for more details.

5. You can adjust volume directly via your VIZIO Remote.

If your TV DOES NOT have built-in Bluetooth

If your TV does NOT have built-in Bluetooth, or if you'd like to connect MORE THAN ONE PAIR (Connect Two Headphones to VIZIO TV) of headphones to your TV simultaneously, you'll have to connect using a Bluetooth Audio Adapter, somthing like these:

Avantree Orbit (Learn MoreONLY Bluetooth Transmitter on the market with LCD Screen Display

TC580 orbit

Avantree Audikast Plus (Learn More)

Avantree Oasis Plus (Learn More)

Oasis Plus

Check more Bluetooth headphones for tv.

With these, you'll be able to:

- Get extended Bluetooth Range.

- Connect up to TWO PAIRS of headphones to your TV (adapter) simultaneously.

- In the case of Oasis Plus, it can be used simultaneously with a SoundBar/Stereo Receiver while sharing ONE Digital Optical Port (See THIS ARTICLE for more details regarding this function.)

Here are the Instructions:

1. Connect your Bluetooth adapter to Power.

2. Connect the Bluetooth adapter to TV. Our adapters support Digital Optical (aka TOSLINK or SPDIF,) 3.5mm Auxiliary (aka Headphones Jack,) and RCA (Red/White) Audio Output Ports. Please see your adapter's user manual for more details.

3. Get your Headphones into pairing mode (Please see your headphone's user manual.)

4. Get your Bluetooth adapter into Bluetooth Pairing mode as well. Please see your user manual if you're not sure how.

5. Keep your the Headphone and the Adapter close to each other until they connect.

6. Once connected, if you're using Digital Optical connection, please go to your TV settings menu and change your Digital Audio Format to PCM.

7. And you'd be good to go!

We have a Vizio V505 G9 and I would like to get wireless headphones for my husband. I would like for him to be able to watch tv and have the sound muted so I can’t hear it. We would like to leave the Bluetooth transmitter plugged in and not have to unplug it when we want to watch tv without using the headphones. Do you have a product that will work for us?

Hi, most of our products should work; I'd recommend either Ensemble or Opera. You'll plug them into the Digital Optical (SPDIF) port on your TV. It won't automatically mute the TV, you'll have to mute/unmute the TV speaker via your remote control. The remote control won't affect the headphones.

Will your device allow you to control the volume of a set of Beats headphones from the headphones ? We have a different adapter now for a vizio D40F that allows you to pair but you can’t adjust volume on headphones.

Hi, the keyword you're looking for is AVRCP - It's a Bluetooth codec that allows headphones to control volume remotely... all our adapters have it, but you'll need to check whether your headphone has it... if it does, then yes you'll be able to control volume on it.

Will your device allow the audio on the tv to be heard as well as the earphones, simultaneously??
Avantree
February 8, 2021
Hi, it depends on the TV, some TVs can, some TVs can't. However, if you have an external speaker such as sound bar or AV Receiver in use, we can guarantee that you get simultaneous audio. Also, we've found that if your TV has Digital Optical audio out and you use that as audio output, you're more like to get simultaneous audio output.

Hi, you'll probably need to go into your TV's audio settings menu and change the digital audio format to PCM.

A Bluetooth adapter turns wired audio signal into wireless audio signals and transmit them into Bluetooth headphones, allowing you to hear your TV through your Bluetooth headphones. If you don't already have Bluetooth headphones, I'd recommend going with our Opera. If you HAVE Bluetooth headphones, I'd recommend going with Orbit. Opera How to: https://youtu.be/MNrCiwiiJfs Opera Purchase Link: https://avantree.com/opera-bluetooth-headphones-for-tv-watching Orbit How to: https://youtu.be/ooW09JQFuoE Orbit Purchase Link: https://avantree.com/orbit-tc580-bluetooth-transmitter-for-tv They can both work alongside an external speaker such as a sound bar or AVR, and they can both connect two pairs of headphones at once. Both features are included in the how to videos.

Sounds like maybe your TV doesn't have Bluetooth built-in. If that's the case, you'll need a Bluetooth transmitter like the ones shown in this blog.

I want to setup a Bluetooth headphone to a 40 in Visio tv, what do i go to in menu to turn it on in my tv
Avantree
June 24, 2021
If your TV comes with Bluetooth built-in, you'll find it in your settings menu, most likely under "audio" or "sound" settings. If it's not there, you'll most likely need a Bluetooth transmitter + headphone, like the one shown in the video in this blog.

You sure your TV has Bluetooth? If you're sure, I suggest turning off your phone's Bluetooth, and make sure that your TV knows that it needs to output audio through Bluetooth.

Interesting that you said that. The TV in our office (for testing) is actually a VIZIO, works just fine with the products we mentioned in this article. We tried to contact you via email, wanted to help you with the set up but no reply.
