  • The HDMI passthrough is working, why can't I get sound from my headphones?

    Please check the following

    1.      ARC Soundbar Output Select switch is set to ON. The LED next to the ARC OUT port should be solid GREEN.

    2.      HDMI cables are oriented correctly. IN to TV, and OUT to soundbar.

    3.      TV settings are set up correctly. Grab your TV’s remote control, and go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > HDMI ARC > PCM

  • How does the volume control work with the HAX05? Does it support CEC?
    1. If your TV is using ARC, in general, the TV's remote control cannot adjust the volume of the TV. The reason is that HDMI ARC is digital audio and therefore not adjustable. The HAX05 does not change this fact.
    2. If your TV is using ARC, AND both the TV and the soundbar support CEC, then both the TV and the soundbar's remotes can adjust the volume of the ARC soundbar.

  • My Blu-ray player, PS5, and TV box are all connected to the AVR via HDMI, and the AVR's HDMI ARC port is connected to the TV's HDMI ARC port. Now, how can I add your Bluetooth transmitter to this system?

    To integrate our Bluetooth transmitter into your existing setup, in addition to the transmitter itself, you will need an Avantree HAX04.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Connect HAX04 between your AVR and TV, specifically by connecting the HDMI ARC port on your AVR to the IN port on HAX04, and then connecting the OUT port on HAX04 to the HDMI ARC port on your TV.
    2. Disable "HDMI control" in the AVR settings.
    3. In the AVR settings, turn on "HDMI audio output".

    Only in this way, the AVR will not keep the audio only to itself, but transmit both the audio and video out. Once you've completed these steps, the IN and OUT green lights on HAX04 will indicate that the device is working properly. You can then connect the Bluetooth transmitter to either the optical or AUX port on HAX04.

    This will allow the transmitter to receive the audio signal from the HAX04, which will then be transmitted to your Bluetooth headphones for an unparalleled sound experience. Enjoy!

  • Set Up Procedure
    • Use the HAX05 as an HDMI ARC Audio Extractor

      Is your TV mounted on the wall, and your optical/headphone port hard to reach? Does your TV only have HDMI, and no other audio output ports? With the HAX05, you can effectively add optical and RCA output to your TV by using it as an HDMI ARC audio extractor.

      First, connect your devices to the HAX05. Connect the HAX05 to power using the DC 5V cable provided. Connect an HDMI cable from your TV’s HDMI ARC port to the “From TV HDMI ARC IN” port on the HAX05.

      Next, connect any audio device you want to use to either the OPT or RCA ports on the HAX05. You can connect wired headphones, wired speakers, Bluetooth transmitters, and more in this way.

      Now, set up your devices. Slide the output select switch on the HAX05 to “ARC Soundbar OFF/none”. The LED next to “To Soundbar HDMI ARC OUT” will be off.

      If you’re not getting sound, please set your TV’s sound to PCM audio. Grab your TV’s remote control, and go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > HDMI ARC > PCM

    • How to get 5.1 Surround Sound Channel Audio with the HAX05?

      First of all, please connect your HAX05 to all relevant devices properly. See the above FAQs under Set Up Procedure for more information.

      If you are using HDMI ARC passthrough:

      1. The audio source needs to be set to 5.1
      2. The receiver (Speaker system/AV receiver) needs to support 5.1
      3. Slide the ARC Soundbar switch to ON
      4. Use the HDMI ARC OUT to connect the HAX05 to your speakers/receivers or transmitter

      If you are using OPT:

      1. The audio source (Roku, Blu-ray, PS5, etc.) needs to be set to 5.1
      2. The receiver (Speaker system/AV receiver) needs to support 5.1
      3. Slide the ARC Soundbar switch to OFF
      4. Use the OPT port to connect the HAX05 to your speakers/receivers or transmitter

      We recommend the Avantree Orbit Bluetooth Transmitter for wireless streaming. There is no need to switch your TV audio to PCM and you can receive 5.1CH audio from your ARC soundbar (with HAX05 in passthrough mode) and 2.0CH when streaming to Bluetooth headphones.

    • What's the difference between hax04 and hax05?

      The Avantree HAX04 is an audio and video extractor, while the Avantree HAX05 is only an audio extractor. Here are the specific scenarios in which they are typically used.

      The HAX04 is usually connected to devices such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, or TV boxes, from which it obtains both image and audio signals, and transmits them to a TV or projector. It also duplicates the audio signal and transmits it to other audio devices such as wired speakers or Bluetooth transmitters, using the optical and audio ports on the HAX04.

      The HAX05 is connected to the HDMI ARC port on a TV on one end, and to the HDMI ARC port on a soundbar on the other. It duplicates the audio signal from the TV to the soundbar, and then transmits it to other audio devices such as wired speakers or Bluetooth transmitters, using the optical and audio ports on the HAX05. It can only work between ARC ports and can only process audio signals, so it cannot function with devices such as a Blu-ray player like the HAX04 can. If any image processing is needed, the HAX04 is required.

      Please check the following

      1.      Make sure the ARC LED is lit. If not, slide the ARC Soundbar Output Select switch to “ON”

      2.      Turn Off Dolby Digital Plus. If you’re using the HDMI ARC passthrough function to connect devices via Optical, you’ll need to turn off Dolby Digital Plus. Then the sound should pass through the HAX05.

      Avantree Products RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Procedure

       

      1.     60-Days-Return-Refund

      Item purchased from Avantree.com can be returned to the closest Avantree RMA center for full refund within 30 days of purchase with no question asked.

      Customer will be responsible for return shipment cost unless item is returned due to defective issues.

      Step 3: Replacement

      3.1. Confirmed Defective Unit

      -        Avantree provides RMA (CD) number to customer

      -        Customer returns the product to Avantree

      o   Purchased within 6 months – Avantree will cover the return label cost.

      o   Purchased over 6 months ago – Customer will cover the return label cost.

      -        Avantree arranges the Replacement

      o   Will be arranged as soon as the return shipment has been shipped.

      o   Customer can expect to receive the replacement unit within 5-7 working days.

      3.2. Back-for-Investigation Unit

      -        Avantree provides RMA (BI) number to customer

      -        Customer returns the product to Avantree. Customer will cover the return label cost.

      -        Avantree arranges the follow up

      o   Confirmed Defective Units – Please Refer to Section 3.1.

      o   No claimed issue found – Avantree will arrange the Original Unit or the Replacement Unit to be shipped back to the customer. Avantree will cover the cost of shipping if the shipment is domestic.

      Note:

      1. The RMA return unit will be equivalent to or better than the condition of the defective unit
      2. The RMA return unit's warranty terms will only be activated once the defective unit is received. For those who do not return their defective items within 30 days, their product warranty will be terminated.
      3. Replacement Unit Warranty Terms:
        • If the remaining Warranty of the Defective Unit is less than 3 months – The Replacement Unit will receive 3 months warranty beginning on the date of reception.

    • Where to find Batch Number/LOT Number?

      Batch No. or Lot No. is a 4-5 Digit/Alphabet combination (e.g. T22F1, 22B1, or T22J1) printed somewhere on the product. The "somewhere" is usually as follows:

      1. on the bottom of the product;

      2. on the inside of the Headband, just above the Earcups;

      3. on the in-line controls or on a Tag near the 3.5mm AUX Plug;

    • Why am I always being redirected to the wrong store

      If you have the problem of being redirected to the wrong store and unable to place an order when you visit avantree.com, the first thing you can try is to switch to another web browser. If that does not work, here are two methods for you to solve the issue.

       

      Method 1. Visit our site in an Incognito window of your browser. We will take Google Chrome as an example to show you how to open an Incognito window.

      Note: If you are using other browsers, please refer to the settings process of chrome above.

      Step1. Open the Chrome browser and click on the top-right menu, then choose the "New Incognito Window" option.
