Auracast in 2025-2026 (I): Hearing Aid Companies Getting Ready

di Avantree Corp 27 Sep 2025

Auracast™ is one of the most exciting advances in Bluetooth® LE Audio. It enables one-to-many audio broadcasting — letting hearing aids, earbuds, and speakers all tune into the same stream, just like connecting to Wi-Fi. Imagine instantly joining an airport announcement, church sermon, or family TV broadcast without any pairing hassles.

At the Bluetooth UPF (UnPlugFest) 2025 testing event in San Francisco, we observed how the hearing aid industry is preparing to make this future a reality. The following insights are based on public demonstrations and cross-brand discussions at UPF. Specific implementation details remain under NDA.

A True Industry Effort

The Bluetooth SIG deserves recognition for orchestrating an impressive cross-company test environment:

  • Hundreds of wireless and software engineers brought devices of every kind to validate interoperability.
  • Over several days, brands tested products against each other in real-world scenarios.
  • The outcome: cross-brand compatibility is progressing strongly, and confidence is growing that Auracast is approaching mainstream readiness.
