Factory Resetting True Wireless Earbuds

Lots of issues can be resolved by Factory Resetting your Bluetooth Headphones/Earbuds... among them, "stuttering sounds (a.k.a. unstable Bluetooth connection)", "one side sound (or one side no sound)", "unable to connect", and sometimes "Bluetooth audio lag (audio-visual not synced)".

However, due to the fact that True Wireless Earbuds usually have 2-3 separate "parts", and due to the complex connection mechanism of the True Wireless Bluetooth technology, resetting True Wireless earbuds can often be quite challenging.

Anyway, we've put together a list of the most commonly seen methods of factory resetting True Wireless Earbuds here. Please take a look and give them a try, perhaps they'll help.

Before starting, please remember, the first step you should always do before conducting a factory reset should always be GOING INTO YOUR PHONE/COMPUTER'S BLUETOOTH MENU AND "FORGET" THE DEVICE YOU'RE TRYING TO RESET, otherwise you won't be able to reconnect them afterwards.

How to fix Bluetooth issues reset

1. If there's a Button on the Charging Case...

Examples of this type of True Wireless Earbuds would be AirPods, AirPods Pro, and Google Pixel Buds, where there's a single button somewhere on the charging case.

How to Factory Reset Airpods

The typical procedure of resetting earbuds like these is 1) Place the earbuds in the charging case and leave the case lid open, and 2) Press & Hold the button on the charging case for 10+ seconds, you should then see a change on the indicator light on the charging case that indicates a successful reset.

Here's a video demonstration using Avantree Ace 130 Bluetooth 5.2 True Wireless Earbuds:

2. If there's NO Button on the Charging Case but there's a Button on Each Earbud...

Examples of this type of True Wireless Earbuds would be Jabra Elite 75t or Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless, or Sony WF-1000xm3.

Jabra Elite 75t How to Reset

The standard way of factory resetting these is usually 1) Press & hold the buttons on both earbuds at the same time for 10+ seconds, or 2) Press & hold ONE of the buttons for 10+ seconds while wearing them. Either way, the indicator light on the earbuds should show some sort of pattern that tells you the reset is complete.

However, the lesser known brands sometimes have much more complicated procedures... and they're often VERY different from each other. Please see the two video below, demonstrate using Avantree TWS115 True Wireless, Avantree TWS106 Long Battery True Wireless. and Avantree TWS116 Open Ear True Wireless.

Surprisingly, a lot of customers have found the TWS115 method very helpful (See video comments section on YouTube.)

3. If there's More than ONE Button on Each Earbud and NO Button on the Case...

Example: Avantree TWS110.

Avantree TWS110 Mini True Wireless Earbuds for Small Ears Canals, Sport Bluetooth 5.0 Earphones with Volume Control & Mic, Clear Sound, Charging Case, 28H Playtime: Electronics

These earbuds are less popular but are typically easier to operate because they have a dedicated button for each function... but then that doesn't make them any easier to reset.

Anyway, here's a video demonstration using Avantree TWS110 (Discontinued).

4. Other Possibilities...

resetting true wireless earbuds

There are some really weird ones... ones where you'd have to use a magnet (yup, a real magnet) in order to clear the pairing history. It's unlikely that you'll run into any of these, but here's a video demonstration of How to Factory Reset the Avantree TWS120 Earbuds using a Magnet.

Through our years in the Bluetooth headphones market, we've seen a variety of methods of resetting True Wireless Earbuds... so it's very likely that none of the methods shown above would work for you.

If none of these work, please contact the manufacturer, they should have the best answer. Feel free to share your experience in the comments section below, other customers may find them helpful.

On the other hand, if you encounter issues on an Avantree product, please feel free to contact us at support@avantree.com, we'll do our best to help.
