And unfortunately you have to do it every time you turn on the PS5...
Plug into your PS5 and pair your audio gear (Samsung Galaxy Buds in my case).
Sound defaults to voice call Bluetooth audio profile (HFP/HSP). Mono and crackly.
Double tap the small button on the underside of the adaptor.
LED will turn green and audio will switch to high quality audio profile (A2DP) .
Sound will be crisp, clear and stereo (and the 3D audio will actually work).
Shame the hardware doesn't default to this mode.
Bought from Amazon to use with my PS5. It paired easily but will not transmit sound. The audio device functions properly with any other Bluetooth source I have used. Contacted support twice and was informed I would get an email and a phone call. It has been over a week and still have received no contact.
I purchased this item for a friend and myself who were having range issues with our Bluetooth speakers. I am running WIN10 and he has a MAC and this product says it's compatible with both. For my test of this product, I plugged the dongle into my laptop and paired it to my Doss speaker following the instructions provided. Once connect to my speaker I moved my speaker about 60' beyond the standard Bluetooth connection distance. I did not detect any drop in sound quality or signal loss with my setup.
For my final test I unplugged the unit from my laptop, reconnected it and then unit was automatically detected. Paired it to my speaker again without any issues. If you are having Bluetooth distance issues, as I was, I would recommend this product to resolve that issue.
As far as being compatible with Apple, my friend lives in another state and it will be awhile before I can verify. But for now I have no reason to question the companies claim that it is.
As a side note: The personal note that came with this unit indicates this company truly cares about their customers and products.
Eh, good. I can't tell the difference between regular 5.3 and audio 5.3
I purchased TIDAL for streaming, and I can't tell the difference between my regular Bluetooth 5.3 for ALL devices, and between this one audio-only Bluetooth 5.3 which is only for audio. I can't because not even TIDAL offers full hifi quality for a lot of their albums. you have to get special albums which I did not grow up with to fully appreciate the APTX Adaptive codec. But it sounds good. and you can tell that in the future, when the rest of the audio-chain catches up, it will be good. but until then it may be a waste of money.
but it did very quickly pair with my amazing earbuds - TRANYA T6 Wireless Earbuds <-- you have to get these earbuds. they are AMAZING! nothing else I tried has this sound. and the Tranya app is so easy and useful. I highly recommend these earbuds.
Worked Perfectly added to my MacPro 4,1 to 5,1 2009 running Monterey 12.7.1
Worked Perfectly added to my MacPro 4,1 to 5,1 2009 running Monterey 12.7.1
entered the pairing mode button on the dongle , put my Shure Aonic 40s in pairing mode and it paired fine.
tested sound and range.
where connected to the built in 2.0 Bluetooth the headphones sounded fine but the range was limited, they cut out when I was about 30 feet from the system. with this dongle 1 was able to walk past that thru my bedroom to the master bath no drop outs this is about 120 feet from y office and, there are 3 or 4 interior wood and sheet rock walls between my office and the master bathroom. most impressed on the range. and the sound is superior!
First off like the DG60 this is a very specific device for a very specific use; pairing one pair of bluetooth headphones or other audio device - NOT keyboards NOT mice NOT anything else - at a time to a PC. It doesn't like having multiple active devices paired to it at the same time (though if I turn off one before turning on the other it will switch just fine). The DG60P most notably includes AptX-Adaptive support as well as BT5.3 instead of 5.0 connectivity. I'm not sure how much that last part will come into play but in theory 5.3 headphones should be able to get a better signal in a 'noisy' environment (radio noisy not noisy nosy) than 5.0 ones. I've had a DG60 since 2021 and... I guess honestly I didn't need to replace it. It works just fine. I didn't really notice any improvement in sound quality with Aptx-adaptive vs Aptx-LL. But it's just as good. Also the ability to accept an external antenna remains nice as a thumb-drive-style one I had been using (for space reasons) was significally worse off. One compliaint: The USB extension cable that came packaged with mine was severely kinked in the box so was very erratic and caused the adapter to disconnect and connect erratically until I replaced it.
If you pair this with an aptX Low Latency Bluetooth Headphones such as TOZO G1 you get the low latency audio from your PC with no difference in quality. I tested it with multiplayer shooter games the sound is near instant! Also to my surprise I was able to hear the game audio (in real quality) and talk thru the mic. I thought I had to get a FastStream capable headphones but these two worked out.
Great for corporate laptops - bluetooth for Teams Zoom et .
My corporate laptop is locked down so the bluetooth will only transmit but not receive. This makes Zoom Teams etc. very difficult since I could hear the other people but they couldn't hear me. I purchased this device since it just goes into the USB port and now I can hear and speak on Zoom calls. It's plug and play so no having to deal with IT to get drivers. The device is audio only (it's effectively a sound card with bluetooth combined) so don't have to worry too much about data security. The range is great - if there is no wall I can get 20 to 30 feet away. A wall will cause interference and doesn't work. I am using these with Beats Sudio Buds +.
When I ordered this received it and began the process of testing it I had no idea this was not a general purpose Bluetooth device. A pretty important distinction for those of you shopping for a Bluetooth device although I have to admit that the majority of motherboards and basically every laptop these days already has Bluetooth. This is something different... this is a device designed specifically for long range audio transmission. Even though it specifically says in the description the title description that this is for audio I still assumed as a Bluetooth device I could use it to connect mice keyboards and more to a computer. Not the case. Having said that if you can go through the process of getting this thing connected and if you have a Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth adapter you wish to beam audio 2 across your house this is pretty amazing. Long range is true and quality is also true. I am not an audiophile other than I certainly love clean and crisp audio deep bass and undistorted highs. As far as I'm concerned with the headphone I have tried this with the quality is outstanding. I have also not attempted to go much further away from the device than throughout the circumference of my home and into my backyard. At least in that case the signal held extremely well. On this point the strength of the signal I must say that I have extremely wide or diverse experiences with Bluetooth even on the same device depending on circumstances and even sometimes I just have different experiences for unknown reasons. Sometimes i'm able to move away from a phone through multiple walls and levels of my home and maintain a signal and other times it seems like it will drop within 20 or 30 feet of distance. I mention that because so far this device has held the signal very well and over long distances including through walls and floors. For that I can't fault it It has basic functions activated through the button on the top of the device. Not recognized by Windows as a Bluetooth device at all so you'll need to follow the instructions included in the packaging which are in easy to understand English and worked perfectly for me. The methods for pairing this device with your audio devices is interesting but so far no problem on my end. It's always troubling to pair devices using flashing lights or button clicks when you have no screen or confirmation method other than a change in the lights status. I guess I can't complain about that giving how successful I was in getting this connected. Obviously some people might find that difficult to figure out. All in all very simple and basic and justice flat out works. Does not seem to cause any issues with windows although you do have to go through the process of selecting your audio device given this adapter is viewed by windows essentially as a Sound output rather than an adapter of some sort. Works just fine for me I'm quite astute at changing audio devices all the time given I spend so much time on teams or other online meetings across multiple devices. I recommend this for those of you who truly need a long range audio Bluetooth connection.
Signal strength is a lot better than any headset Ive ever had on my ps4/5 can walk anywhere in the house and have connectivity. It's very simple to setup plugged it in held pair button and opens my ear buds and about 5-10 sec they said connected. Very nice!
Did all my research and still bought the wrong product. Contacted this vendor who patiently listened to my needs explained what I should have bought and accepted the return of the first item. When this arrived it was simple to set up and allows me all the freedom I need to take meetings while moving around sometimes 30-40 feet from my PC. A solution that comes with good support. Nice.
This is a little different than normal Bluetooth dongles that require a driver - this is essentially a sound card on a stick so once you plug it in it doesn't require any configuration (aside from choosing between the two modes). I'm using this to replace another Bluetooth dongle and the external antenna does wonders for the range - I can use my headphones all over the house without it cutting out.
Oddly enough this product worked well when I first received it but after a couple days its range narrowed significantly. This has been the case for a few weeks now and I've tried all the troubleshooting I can so it seems it's just not a long-range bluetooth adapter. The advertised range is 100 feet; the audio blips out at more like 30 feet.
At time of purchase and still today they claim able to be used for ps5 ... you can plug in and connect but you can not game with the terrible audio. It sounds worse than a pair of 2 buck earbuds.
Music through this sounds great if you are looking for usb sound card. I didn't notice the difference between the game mode and music mode. For apx I expected less delay for gaming. For the price point of $30 it's okay.
It works great but it doesn't have software for windows. It pairs to your Bluetooth device and plays whatever you have it plugged into. It doesn't give your computer search capabilities. Still does the job and great price.
My newly acquired Avantree Bluetooth Adapter transmits sound beautifully from my PC to my speakers. Designed specifically for audio it registers as a USB audio device in PC connections. Besides minimizing audio delay features that make it stand out are its microphone use capability and its streaming indicator. A steady or flashing green LED indicates between aptX HD SBC or aptX Low Latency streaming.
Avantree DG60P USB Long Range 5.3 Bluetooth Adapter: Some Caveats
The Avantree DG60P USB Long Range 5.3 Bluetooth Adapter offers an extended Bluetooth range which is great. However it has limitations such as connecting only one device at a time and lacking selective pairing options which can be inconvenient for users who require multiple connections or specific device pairing preferences.
This works for me. The sound seems normal to me as I was able to connect my PC to Bluetooth speaker. I'm not used to having an antenna sticking out from one of these dongles but I guess that's what will make its range larger(?). So far this works great for me.
