The Daily Challenge

Hearing loss is not just about volume.

Many people can hear that someone is speaking, but still cannot understand the words clearly, especially in noisy places like coffee shops, clinics, restaurants, front desks, trade shows, or family gatherings.

Dedicated remote microphone accessories can work well, but they are often expensive and tied to one hearing aid brand.

If you have newer Auracast-enabled hearing aids, your smartphone can become a simpler close-range microphone with a small USB-C Auracast transmitter.

Instead of asking people to speak louder, point your phone toward the person speaking and listen through your hearing aids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers before you try it.

Does this work with regular Bluetooth hearing aids?
No. This solution requires Auracast-enabled hearing aids. Regular Bluetooth hearing aids cannot directly receive an Auracast broadcast.
Do I need to pair my hearing aids with C82 Aura?
No traditional Bluetooth pairing is needed. Join the Auracast broadcast using your hearing aid app or a compatible Android Auracast assistant.
Can I use any microphone app?
Most microphone or voice amplifier apps should work as long as the app can send audio out through USB-C. Test your preferred app first because behavior may vary.
Can more than one person listen at the same time?
Yes. Multiple Auracast-enabled hearing aids can join the same broadcast at the same time.
Is this the same as a professional remote microphone?
Not exactly. Professional remote microphones may have better pickup and noise handling. This phone-based solution is simpler and more convenient for everyday use.
