1. It is an audio adapter and recognized as a USB sound card / USB speaker when plugged in. No Bluetooth icon will appear on PC. 2. The pairing / connection via Bluetooth is between the C81 and your Bluetooth headphones / speaker, not the PC.
Step 1: Plug the C81 In your computer/PS4 /PS5.
Step 2: Get the C81 into Pairing Mode.
1st-Time Use: It'll automatically enter pairing mode. The LED indicator will rapidly Flash BLUE and White alternatively Note 1.2: Non-1st Time Use: Press & Hold the MFB button on C81 until the LED indicator starts flashing BLUE and White alternatively
Step 3: Put your Headphones/Speakers into Bluetooth Pairing Mode.
Headphone / Speaker 1st-Time Use: The Headphone/Speaker should enter pairing mode automatically when powered on.
Note 1.3: Non-1st-Time Use: Merely powering on WILL NOT get it into pairing mode, you'll need to do so manually. Please either refer to the brand list below or refer to your Headphone/Speaker's user manual. You also can search on Google. E.g. “Bose QC35 Bluetooth Pairing Mode”
Note 1.4: It is important to turn your cellphone, PC or any other previously paired-with devices' Bluetooth function off to avoid interference.
With both devices in pairing mode, give them a few seconds. Once connected, the indicator on C81 will turn SolidBlue (in music mode)
If you still can't get C81 pair with your bluetooth headphones/speakers, please try to Factory reset C81and your devices and then pair them again as above.
Please contact us at support@avantree.com if still have any problem.
If you're using a non Faststream codec headphone (like Bose, Sony, Apple headphones, they don't support Faststream codec), C81 can auto switch to talk mode on most Windows computers and Macbook. But on PS4/PS5, you need to switch it to talk mode manually if you don't use the small Mic (Use the 3.5mm Mic on PS4/PS5). Please double click the MFB button on C81 to switch it to talk mode. In call mode, LED light on C81 will be solid White.
Note: If you use Avantree Faststream codec headphons like Aria, AH6B, NB16 with C81, no need to switch it to call mode. You can get music mode and call mode working at the same time.
If you still can't get the mic to work once you switch C81 to talk mode, please check as following:
This applies to Leaf (DG50), C51, DG60, DG80 and C81
Using your own headphone/headset with an Avantree USB adapter but unhappy with the Voice-Chat sound quality. That is because the headphone doesn't support Faststream codec.
FastStream is a type of Bluetooth codec, all the Avantree USB adapters mentioned above supports FastStream. When you connect a headphone/headset that supports FastStream to the adapter, you'll be able to get 16-bit Stereo Quality voice chats - much better than the Mono quality you've been getting through your own headphones.
Or if you use Avantree C81 on PS4/PS5, you could use the 3.5mm mic which is coming with C81 to get the stereo sound quality while talking- How to use the 3.5mm microphone?
Please feel free to contact us at support@avantree.com if you're still not sure.
