Step 1: When use ARC, make sure you are using the HAX04 Toslink/optical output port and not the R/L RCA ports.


Step 2: Make sure the ARC LED is lit. If not, press the ARC button once (1).

Step 3: Sound setting of the soundbar should be set to "Optical in".


Step 4:  Change the position of the ADV/2.0/5.1 EDID Management Switch.


Change it between 2CH, 5CH, or ADV. For example, if your audio source is 7.1, your home audio system is 7.1 CH, and if you move your EDID switch to ADV, and there is no sound try changing from ADV to 5.1 or 2,0CH. Optical output only supports 5.1 channels.


Step 5: Turn Off Dolby Digital Plus.

Because TOSLINK (SPDIF) does not support Dolby Digital Plus, you need to turn off the Dolby Digital Plus function of the source input devices. Then the sound should pass through the HAX04.

1) For Amazon Fire TV or Amazon Fire TV Stick:
Settings - Display Sound - Audio - Dolby Digital Output - Dolby Digital Plus Off

2) Apple TV
Settings – Audio Video - Dolby Digital - OFF

Note: If you use the HDMI to DVI or HDMI to VGA cable for the video, you may experience no audio out. In this case, please use HDMI to HDMI cable for the video.
