Two headphones. One clear TV setup.
Connect the Duet transmitter to your TV with Optical or AUX, then listen together with independent volume control.
Duet uses its included 2.4 GHz transmitter. The headphones do not pair directly with a TV, phone, or tablet by Bluetooth.

How Duet works

Do not use the TV Bluetooth menu. Connect the base to a physical TV audio output.
Recommended kit setup
Four steps. One clear result.
Follow each step in order. We show what to do, what to look for, and how to fix it.
Step 1
Power the Duet base
Watch: power the Duet base
- Connect the included USB-C cable to the base.
- Connect the other end to a working 5 V, 1–2.4 A USB power source.
- Slide the base power switch to ON.

Expected result: the base powers on. When a headphone connects, its corresponding connection light becomes solid blue.
No light? Reseat the USB-C cable at both ends and try another known-working USB power source.
Step 2
Choose one TV audio output.
Match the printed label beside the TV socket. You only need one audio cable.
No headphone jack is okay. Most modern TVs have a square OPTICAL / DIGITAL AUDIO OUT.

Connect with Optical
- Remove any clear protective caps from the optical cable.
- Connect TV OPTICAL / DIGITAL AUDIO OUT to base OPTICAL IN.
- Push both plugs in fully.
- Slide the base input selector to OPT.

Soundbar on HDMI ARC? Disconnect it temporarily while confirming Optical setup. See the soundbar section later for simultaneous listening.
Connect with AUX / 3.5 mm
- Connect TV HEADPHONES / AUDIO OUT to base AUX IN.
- Push both round plugs in fully.
- Slide the base input selector to AUX.

Red/white RCA output? Use a compatible RCA-to-3.5 mm audio cable/adapter only when the TV ports are labeled audio output. Do not use AV/Component input sockets.
HDMI ARC-only TV
- Connect TV HDMI ARC / eARC to HAX06.
- Connect HAX06 OPTICAL OUT to Duet OPTICAL IN.
- Select Optical on Duet and set the TV audio format to PCM.
Step 3
Set the TV audio output.
Optical requires PCM. AUX uses the TV headphone/audio-out volume.
If you used Optical
- Open the TV Settings with its remote.
- Set Sound Output to Optical, External Speaker, or Audio System.
- Set Digital Audio Format to PCM or Stereo.
- Play a TV program with speaking voices.
Must use PCM:Dolby, DTS, Auto, or Bitstream may cause no sound.
If you used AUX: raise the TV volume to a normal level. Some TVs mute their speakers when the headphone jack is used.
Step 4
Turn on both headphones and listen.
Each headphone connects to its own channel on the base and has independent volume.

Success: each active headphone has a solid blue connection light and plays TV sound.
Finish setup
Watch: turn on and use the headphones
- Remove the headphones from the charging dock.
- Turn on the base and each headphone.
- Keep them near the base and wait for the connection lights to become solid blue.
- Put on each headphone and adjust its volume gradually.
Expected audio: both headphones play the same program; each listener controls only their own volume.
Blue light flashes? The headphone is not connected. Keep it close to the base, power-cycle it, then use the connection fix below if it does not turn solid.
Daily use
Charge either headphone on the dock or by USB-C.
The headphone LED stays solid red while charging and turns off when fully charged.
Power & charging
Up to 20 hours of listening per charge.
- Keep the Duet base connected to 5 V USB power.
- Place a headphone on the charging contacts, or connect a USB-C cable directly to it.
- Confirm the headphone LED is solid red.
- Charging is complete when the LED turns off.
Not charging? Reseat the headphone on the contacts, clean/dry the contact area, or reseat the USB-C cable and verify the power source.

Quick fixes
Match what you see or hear.
Each fix states the check, action, expected result, and next step.
No sound with Optical
- Confirm TV OPTICAL OUT → Duet OPTICAL IN and select OPT.
- Set TV Sound Output to Optical/External Speaker.
- Set Digital Audio Format to PCM/Stereo, not Dolby/DTS/Auto.
- Check that the base audio-valid light is solid white and the headphone connection light is solid blue.
Expected: white audio light + blue connection light + TV sound.

- Keep the headphone within 1 m / 3 ft of the powered base.
- Turn the headphone off, wait 5 seconds, then turn it on.
- Power-cycle the base if the light still flashes.
Expected: the light becomes solid blue. If it stays flashing, submit a ticket and specify which headphone/channel is affected.
Base audio light is not white
- Play a TV program with speech.
- Confirm the cable is in a TV OUT port, not an input.
- Match the input selector to Optical or AUX.
- For Optical, select PCM. For AUX, raise TV volume.
Expected: the base audio-valid indicator becomes solid white.
Use TV speakers and headphones together
TV behavior varies. Optical TVs may offer simultaneous TV Speaker + Optical output; a headphone jack often mutes TV speakers.
- Open TV Sound Output settings.
- Look for TV Speaker + Optical, Multiple Audio Output, or similar.
- If unavailable, use the Duet pass-through with a compatible soundbar.
Use a soundbar and Duet together
Use Bypass: the Duet base sends the same TV audio to the headphones and soundbar. The input and output cable types must match.
HDMI ARC/eARC only?
Duet cannot pass HDMI directly. Use a compatible HDMI audio extractor such as HAX06. For Sonos products without Optical input, use the compatible Sonos/HDMI adapter path for that model.
Expected: the headphones and soundbar play the same TV program together.
AUX / microphone jack questions
The 3.5 mm connection is analog audio. A TV jack labeled Headphones, Audio Out, or compatible MIC/Audio Out can feed Duet AUX IN. Do not connect to AV/Component input sockets.
- Confirm the TV jack is an output.
- Insert both plugs fully.
- Select AUX and raise TV output volume.
Expected: the base audio light turns white and the headphones play sound.

Base indicators and controls
- Power
- Slide ON/OFF to power the Duet base.
- Input selector
- Set OPT for Optical or AUX for the 3.5 mm input.
- Solid white
- The selected input has a valid audio signal.
- Solid blue A/B
- The corresponding headphone is connected.
- Pass-through
- Use matching types: Optical in → Optical out, or AUX in → AUX out.
Headphone controls and lights
- Power
- Turn each headphone on or off.
- + / −
- Adjust that headphone's listening volume independently.
- Sound mode
- Switch between Clear Voice and Balanced listening; the mode light is white for Clear Voice and orange for Balanced.
- Solid blue
- Connected to the base.
- Solid red
- Charging.
- Light off while docked
- Fully charged.
Add compatible headphones
Duet supports additional compatible 2.4 GHz headphones, including Duet-Extra and Quartet-Extra. Follow the official pairing steps; these are not Bluetooth headphones.
