Step 1 · Before you start

Check your app and transmitter.

IPHONEiOS 18 or laterUse the latest Fortell app.
IPADiPadOS 26 or laterUse Fortell app 1.26.16 or later.

Before you search

  • Start an Auracast transmitter at your audio source.
  • Recommended: Avantree Audikast 4HA or C82 Aura.

STEP 2 · JOIN THE BROADCAST

Connect in the Fortell app.

Keep your hearing aids connected. Stay near the transmitter.

Update and open the Fortell app

Get the latest version. Open it on your iPhone or iPad.

Open Auracast broadcasts

In the Fortell app, tap Account → Auracast broadcasts.

Select the broadcast

Under Available broadcasts, tap the broadcast you want to hear.

Expected: The broadcast opens. If it is missing, use the fixes below.

Enter the password if asked

A lock means the broadcast is protected. Enter the password. Tap the blue checkmark or arrow.

Return Home and listen

Tap Back, then Home. Adjust the broadcast volume there.

Connected: You hear the broadcast. Tap X to disconnect.

FIX A PROBLEM

Get the broadcast playing.

The broadcast is not listed

Check these in order:

  1. Confirm the transmitter is on and broadcasting.
  2. Move closer to the transmitter.
  3. Update the Fortell app. Reopen Account → Auracast broadcasts.

Fixed: the broadcast appears and opens when tapped.

The broadcast asks for a password
  1. Ask the broadcaster for the password.
  2. Enter it exactly.
  3. Tap the blue checkmark or arrow.

Fixed: the app shows the broadcast as connected.

Connected, but I hear no sound

Check these in order:

  1. Play audio on the TV, PA system, or source.
  2. Open Home. Raise the stream volume.
  3. Tap X. Join the broadcast again.

Fixed: the stream appears on Home and plays through both hearing aids.

I cannot find Auracast broadcasts
  • Update the Fortell app.
  • iPhone: use iOS 18 or later.
  • iPad: use iPadOS 26 and app 1.26.16 or later.
