C82 LEA Setup Guide

Pair C82 LEA with your hearing aids or headphones, then choose your device's sound output.

Requires: A USB-audio device and LE Audio hearing aids/headphones or Classic Bluetooth headphones.

Not supported: Hearing aids without LE Audio cannot pair directly. Auracast requires C82 Aura firmware.

Pair your hearing aids or headphones

Open the one that matches your receiver.

LE Audio hearing aidsDirect pairing · solid green when connected

Pair LE Audio hearing aids

Prepare both LE Audio hearing aids

Requires: Hearing aids that support Bluetooth LE Audio.

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on nearby devices.
  2. Put both aids in pairing mode using their maker's instructions.
  3. Keep both aids within 2 in / 5 cm of C82 LEA.

Done: The maker's app or guide confirms pairing mode.

If not: For rechargeable aids, place them in the case, then remove them.

Pair LE Audio hearing aids with C82 LEA

  1. Plug C82 LEA into the USB-audio device.
  2. If blue/white flashes, press the side PAIR button three times for LE Audio.
  3. If green/white does not flash, hold PAIR for 2 seconds.
  4. Keep the aids within 5 cm until the LED turns solid green.

Done: Solid green means the LE Audio aids are connected.

If not: Fix pairing.

Pair LE Audio headphones

Requires: Headphones that support Bluetooth LE Audio.

  1. Plug C82 LEA into your USB-audio device.
  2. Put the headphones in pairing mode, not just on. Keep them close.
  3. If C82 LEA flashes blue/white, press the side PAIR button three times.
  4. If green and white does not flash, hold PAIR for 2 seconds.

Done: The C82 LEA LED turns solid green.

If not: Fix pairing.

Classic Bluetooth headphonesDirect pairing · solid blue or purple when connected

Pair Classic Bluetooth headphones

  1. Plug C82 LEA into your USB-audio device.
  2. Put the headphones in pairing mode. Turning them on is not enough.
  3. If C82 LEA flashes green/white, press the side PAIR button three times.
  4. If blue and white does not flash, hold PAIR for 2 seconds.

Done: The C82 LEA LED turns solid blue or purple.

If not: Disconnect the headphones from nearby devices, then retry.

Connected? Choose sound output →

Choose C82 LEA as sound output

Open your source device after the C82 LEA light turns solid.

Windows computer

Play computer audio

Requires: C82 LEA is paired with your hearing aids or headphones.

  1. Open Windows Settings → System → Sound → Output.
  2. Select C82 LEA or the Avantree USB audio device.
  3. Play media at low volume, then raise it slowly.

Done: Audio plays through the connected receiver.

If not: Fix no sound.

Mac computer

Play Mac audio

Requires: C82 LEA is paired with your hearing aids or headphones.

  1. Open Mac System Settings → Sound → Output.
  2. Select C82 LEA or the Avantree USB audio device.
  3. Play media at low volume, then raise it slowly.

Done: Audio plays through the connected receiver.

If not: Fix no sound.

PS5

Play PS5 game audio

Requires: C82 LEA is paired with your hearing aids or headphones.

  1. Open PS5 Settings → Sound → Audio Output.
  2. Select the C82 LEA USB audio device as Output Device.
  3. Play game audio at low volume.

Done: Game audio plays through the connected receiver.

If not: Fix no sound.

USB-C phone or tablet

Play phone or tablet audio

Requires: USB audio support and C82 LEA paired with your hearing aids or headphones.

  1. Plug C82 LEA into the device's USB-C port.
  2. Play media at low volume.
  3. If audio stays on the device, select its USB audio output.

Done: Audio plays through hearing aids or headphones connected to C82 LEA.

If not: Confirm USB audio support, then fix no sound.

Hearing aids or headphones will not connect

Fix C82 LEA pairing

Possible cause: Wrong mode or a connection to another device.

  1. Check C82 LEA: green/white flashing for LE Audio; blue/white for Classic Bluetooth.
  2. Press PAIR three times to switch modes, or hold PAIR 2 seconds to start pairing.
  3. Turn off nearby Bluetooth and put the receiver in pairing mode.

Done: Solid green confirms LE Audio; solid blue or purple confirms Classic Bluetooth.

If not: Clear saved pairings.

Connected, but no sound

Restore C82 LEA audio

Possible cause: Wrong output, mute, or reconnection to a phone.

  1. Play media and select C82 LEA as the source's sound output.
  2. Unmute and raise source and receiver volume slowly.
  3. Turn off nearby phone Bluetooth.
  4. If still silent, reinsert C82 LEA into another direct USB port.

Done: Audio plays through the receiver.

If not: Open full no-sound help ↗.

Audio keeps disconnecting

Keep C82 LEA connected

Possible cause: Another device reconnects or interrupts USB/wireless audio.

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on nearby devices.
  2. Move the receiver close to C82 LEA.
  3. Plug C82 LEA directly into the source USB port, then reconnect.

Done: Audio stays connected while media plays.

If not: Open full disconnect help ↗.

PS5 audio works, but others cannot hear you

Check the PS5 microphone

Possible cause: C82 LEA firmware or Voice Chat Mode; headset compatibility varies.

  1. Update C82 LEA firmware on Windows or Mac.
  2. Reconnect C82 LEA and the headset to the PS5.
  3. Once connected, quickly press C82 LEA's Multifunction Button twice.
  4. Open PS5 Settings → Sound → Microphone; select USB input and unmute.

Done: The LED is solid white and the PS5 microphone level moves when you speak.

Clear saved pairings

Clear C82 LEA pairing history

Use with: Standard C82 LEA firmware. This clears saved LE Audio and Classic connections; pair again afterward. After installing C82 Aura firmware, use its different reset steps ↗.

  1. Keep C82 LEA plugged into powered USB.
  2. Hold PAIR for 2 seconds until the LED flashes green/white or blue/white.
  3. While it flashes, quickly press PAIR twice.

Done: Solid white lasts about 5 seconds; C82 LEA enters pairing mode.

Use Auracast with hearing aids

Join an Auracast broadcast

Requires: Install C82 Aura firmware on C82 LEA through the official updater ↗, then reset with the C82 Aura method. Standard C82 LEA direct pairing does not broadcast Auracast.

  1. Keep the updated adapter in powered USB.
  2. Quickly press its side Multifunction Button three times. A green LED confirms reset.
  3. Confirm the adapter broadcasts as described in the C82 Aura guide.

Done: The adapter is broadcasting and ready for hearing aids to join.

If not: If C82 Aura firmware is not offered or no broadcast appears, contact Avantree Support.

Choose how your hearing aids receive Auracast

Auracast hearing aids

Join from your hearing-aid app or brand guide.

Choose your brand → You can hear music from your phone through your hearing aids You can switch your hearing aids to “T” or “MT”
Not sure about T or MT?

Look for a T or MT setting in your hearing aid app or paperwork. If you cannot find one, ask your hearing care professional.

Join with Auracast hearing aids

Requires: Auracast hearing aids and an updated C82 LEA broadcasting with C82 Aura firmware.

  1. Check for a solid white adapter LED. If orange, hold the side button 6 seconds until white.
  2. Turn on the aids and enable Bluetooth on the phone running their hearing-aid app.
  3. Select the adapter broadcast in the app's Auracast list, not the phone Bluetooth list.
  4. Play source audio at low volume, then raise it slowly.

Done: Source audio plays through the joined hearing aids.

If not: Check the white light and scan again using the C82 Aura guide.

Aura C receiver plugs into a USB-C phone

Aura C phone hearing aids

  1. Plug Aura C into a compatible USB-C phone.
  2. The phone sends the broadcast to hearing aids already connected by Bluetooth, MFi, or ASHA.

Aura C does not pair directly with hearing aids.

Set up Aura C →

You can switch your hearing aids to “T” or “MT”Use AuraCoil or AuraClip

Switch to T or MT. The neckloop sends the broadcast to your hearing aids.

Update firmware

Update C82 LEA firmware

Use when: Support directs you to update or pairing repeatedly fails. To enable Auracast, choose C82 Aura firmware in Avantree Updater.

  1. Download Avantree Updater ↗ on Windows or Mac.
  2. Connect C82 LEA to the computer and install the intended firmware.
  3. Keep C82 LEA connected until the updater reports completion.
  4. For standard firmware, clear pairings. For C82 Aura firmware, use the C82 Aura reset method ↗.

Done: The updater says complete; audio plays after re-pairing or rejoining the broadcast.
