Important: Quartet 2 headphones are 2.4 GHz receivers. They do not connect directly to a phone or TV Bluetooth menu.

Do not pair the headphones to your phone. For phone or PC audio, pair the transmitter as the Bluetooth device.

Start setup

Four steps. One shared audio source.

Follow the four steps in order. In Step 2, match the audio output on your TV.

Step 1

Power the transmitter.

  1. Connect the transmitter USB-C power port to a 5 V / 1–2 A USB power source.
  2. Slide the transmitter power switch to ON.
  3. Confirm an input indicator lights.

Expected: the selected input light turns white.

No light? Reseat both cable ends and try a known-working USB power source.

Step 2

Choose one TV audio output.

Check the back or side of your TV and match the socket label below.

Use only one connection. Optical is recommended when available. If the TV only has HDMI ARC/eARC, use an HAX06 adapter.

Connect with Optical

Use the square-ended cable selected above.

  1. Remove the protective caps from both Optical cable ends.
  2. Connect TV OPTICAL / DIGITAL AUDIO OUT to transmitter Optical Input from TV.
  3. Slide Audio Input to OPT/AUX.
  4. Push both plugs in fully.

Connect with AUX / 3.5 mm

Use the round-ended 3.5 mm cable selected above.

  1. Connect TV HEADPHONES / AUDIO OUT to transmitter AUX Input from TV.
  2. Slide Audio Input to OPT/AUX.
  3. Push both plugs in fully.

Connect an HDMI ARC-only TV with HAX06

HAX06 converts HDMI ARC/eARC audio to Optical. It is sold separately.

  1. Connect the TV HDMI ARC / eARC port to HAX06 HDMI ARC.
  2. Connect HAX06 OPTICAL OUT to Quartet 2 Optical Input from TV.
  3. Slide Quartet 2 Audio Input to OPT/AUX.
  4. Turn off eARC if required by the TV, then set digital audio to PCM.

Step 3

Set the TV audio output.

  1. Set TV Sound Output to Optical / External Speaker / Audio System.
  2. Set Digital Audio Format to PCM / Stereo.
  3. Play a program with clear speech.

Optical must use PCM. Dolby or DTS can cause silence or noise.

  1. Set TV output to Headphones / Audio Out.
  2. Raise TV volume to a normal level.
  3. Play a program with clear speech.
No sound? Confirm the TV volume is not muted and the socket says OUT.
  1. Select the TV's HDMI ARC / eARC sound output.
  2. Turn off eARC if HAX06 does not receive audio.
  3. Set Digital Audio Format to PCM / Stereo.
  4. Play a program with clear speech.

HAX06 Optical output must use PCM. Dolby or DTS can cause silence or noise.

AUX uses the TV volume. Start at a normal TV volume, then adjust each listener's headset in the Adjust Volume section.

Step 4

Turn on all headphones.

  1. Slide each headphone power switch to ON.
  2. Wait for each headphone LED to turn solid blue.
  3. Play audio and adjust each listener's volume gradually.

Success: solid blue on the headphones and the same audio plays for every listener.

One headphone does not connect? Keep it close to the transmitter, then follow “Add or reconnect a headphone” below.

Daily use

Charge the headphones.

Charge each headset independently before group listening.

  • Use USB-C, 5 V / 0.5–2 A.
  • Low battery: red flashes.
  • Charging: solid red.
  • Full: light off after about 3 hours.
  • Playtime: up to 20 hours.

Not charging? Try another cable or power source and inspect the USB-C port.

Use headphones with Phone / PC

Send Bluetooth audio to the Quartet 2 transmitter.

Pair the transmitter—not the 2.4 GHz headphones.

  1. Turn on the transmitter and slide Audio Input to Phone. Phone blinks white. If not, hold Phone for 4 seconds.
  2. Open the phone or PC Bluetooth list and select the Quartet 2 transmitter. Phone turns solid white.
  3. Turn on the headphones and play audio.

Success: Phone is solid white and the same audio plays in every connected headphone.

Keep the transmitter within 3 m / 10 ft of the phone or PC during pairing.

Adjust volume

Set a comfortable level for each listener.

Each headset has independent volume and mute controls.

  1. Start playback and set the TV, phone, or PC to a normal level.
  2. Press + or − on each headphone to set that listener's volume.
  3. Double-press the headphone MFB to mute; double-press again to unmute.

Expected: each listener can change their own volume without changing the others.

Still too quiet? For AUX, raise the TV/source volume first. For Optical, confirm the source is PCM and raise the headphone volume gradually.

Advanced features

Expand the group or share audio with speakers.

Add or reconnect a headphone

  1. Hold Add Devices on the transmitter for 2 seconds; its light blinks white.
  2. Slide the headphone to ON, then hold at PAIR for 2 seconds; blue blinks.
  3. Wait until both lights are solid.

Expected: the transmitter and new headphone indicators become solid.

Supports up to 100 compatible receivers, including Quartet-Extra, Audiplex-RX, or Duet-RX.

Use a soundbar at the same time

Quartet 2 bypass connection to a TV and soundbar

Connect TV → transmitter input, then transmitter bypass output → soundbar. Use the same cable type for both sides: Optical-to-Optical or AUX-to-AUX.

No soundbar audio? Confirm the TV uses PCM and the soundbar is on the matching input.

Quick fixes

What is going wrong?

Each fix tells you what to check and what success looks like.

🔇No sound from any headphone
  1. Confirm the source cable is in an OUT socket and fully inserted.
  2. Match the transmitter input switch to Optical/AUX or Phone.
  3. For Optical, set TV format to PCM; for AUX, raise source volume.
  4. Confirm headphones are solid blue and raise their volume.

Expected: the selected input is solid white, headphones are solid blue, and speech plays.

1Only one headphone has no sound
  1. Charge and restart that headphone.
  2. Keep it near the transmitter.
  3. Hold Add Devices on the transmitter for 2 seconds.
  4. Hold the headphone at PAIR for 2 seconds and wait for solid lights.

Expected: that headphone becomes solid blue and joins the same audio.

PCMOptical connected but silent or noisy
  1. Set Sound Output to Optical / External Speaker.
  2. Set Digital Audio Format to PCM / Stereo, not Dolby or DTS.
  3. Disconnect HDMI ARC soundbar temporarily if it overrides Optical.

Expected: clear speech without static.

BTPhone or PC cannot find Quartet 2
  1. Pair the transmitter—not the headphones.
  2. Set Audio Input to Phone.
  3. Hold Phone for 4 seconds until it blinks white.
  4. Remove an old saved entry and search again within 10 ft / 3 m.

Expected: Phone becomes solid white.

↔Soundbar and headphones will not play together
  1. Use transmitter bypass: TV → transmitter → soundbar.
  2. Use the same connection type on both sides.
  3. For Optical, set PCM and select the soundbar Optical input.

Expected: both outputs play together with independent headphone volume.

?Still not working
  • Record the source brand/model, chosen input, and all LED states.
  • Photograph the source socket and transmitter connections.
  • Submit a Quartet 2 ticket below and attach those details.

Firmware update

Update only when support recommends it.

Firmware is not part of normal setup. Use the official Quartet 2 update page when a fix or feature specifically requires it.

    Open the official update page and read the version notes.
  2. 2. Connect
    Use the specified USB data cable and keep power stable.
  3. 3. Finish
    Do not disconnect until the updater confirms completion.
