Before your flight
- Charge Relay and test it before travel with a laptop, airplane-style seat screen, or other 3.5 mm headphone output.
- Pair your headphones before boarding.
- Turn Relay off using the side switch after testing.

Relay sends sound from a 3.5 mm audio output to AirPods or Bluetooth headphones. It is a transmitter—not a device you select on your phone.

Important: Do not look for "Relay" in your phone Bluetooth menu. Relay connects directly to your headphones.
QUICK SETUP
Keep Relay and your headphones within 3 ft / 1 m while pairing.
Turning them on is not enough.
Choose your headphones
Put AirPods in pairing mode
Success: the pairing signal shown above appears.
Slide the side power switch to ON.
MFB = the large round button
If Relay shows only a blue flash, press and hold the large round MFB for 2 seconds.
Do not continue until the two connection lights flash red and blue alternately.
Keep Relay and the headphones within 3 ft / 1 m. Connection usually takes 10–30 seconds.
The large round MFB is a button—not a connection light.
Your headphones are ON—but not pairing.

Use a 3.5 mm headphone/audio output on the airplane screen, laptop, or gym machine.
Not sure which airplane jack to use?Important: check all 3 volumes
If any one is muted or too low, you may hear little or no sound—even with a solid blue light.
Done: solid blue + sound in your headphones.

ON THE PLANE
Relay needs an analog 3.5 mm headphone output.
Plug Relay in directly.
Use the included airplane adapter.
Use only the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Not part of normal setup. Update only when Avantree Support recommends it or a troubleshooting guide directs you here.
During the update: do not unplug Relay, close the updater, or turn off the computer.

Lower volume before putting on headphones, then increase it gradually. Stop if you experience ringing or discomfort.
Keep the product dry. Do not open it or replace the built-in battery. Keep small parts away from children.
Follow airline and facility instructions for wireless devices. Do not use headphones where full attention is required.
